A message from the Program Director, Paige McClatchy
Dear GBSA friends and family,
My name is Paige McClatchy and I am the Program Director of the Greenwich Bay Sailing Association. I grew up sailing at GBSA and loved every wet minute of it. After competing in NBYA Jr. Sailing, I worked at GBSA for a few years as an Opti instructor and later began coaching Optis and 420s at Connanicut Yacht Club in Jamestown. Before returning to GBSA, I had the privilege of managing the junior sailing program at Saunderstown Yact Club, but I am thrilled to be back in my home waters to guide GBSA, its staff, and students through many successful summers.
I am US Sailing Level 3 certified and am a Middle School Social Studies Teacher when I am not sailing. I am an avid outdoors person and a passionate sailor. Currently, I compete in the antique S-Class division, racing in Bristol, Newport, and other spots on the bay. As a program director, I seek to share my skills and passion with our junior sailors as well as our staff.
You have many options in Rhode Island when choosing where to send your child to learn how to sail. As an alum of GBSA,I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of instruction and engagement that GBSA provides. We have a strong culture of friendship, sportsmanship, and competitiveness that is balanced with our fun spirit-- evidenced in fun days and pirate's clothing. I hope that you do choose to send your child to our program, as I believe our program has a clear vision of the multiple ways a student can develop into a lifelong water rat/sailor like myself.
Thank you! And as always, feel free to email me at with any questions or comments about our program.
