Employment Opportunities

What's better than getting paid to do what you love?

Who we are: We are a non-profit sailing center connected with the East Greenwich Yacht Club. We are located in central Narragansett Bay and compete in NBYA. Our club has a wonderful community and culture -- our families are supportive and collaborative and often volunteer to help out the program. GBSA is a stand out club on the bay for its sense of friendliness, sportsmanship, and competition. We host the CJ Buckley 420 National Team Race Championship each year as well as local junior events. We recently purchased new Optis and new 420 sails. Many of our sailors participate in our Spring and Fall programs, too!

Our mission is: safety, fun, and learning.

Who we are looking for: Enthusiastic and skilled coaches. We have a team of returning instructors for many roles, but are looking to expand our staff.

Other details:  The program length is 8 weeks and there is a setup week before the program and another 2-3 days at the end to break everything down. Compensation is salary/experience based and competitive within Rhode Island. There are lots of opportunities to earn extra, through private lessons and other avenues. Out of state candidates may either receive housing stipend or will be accommodated by one of our families. We are located pretty much in the center of RI, close to Newport, Providence, and the beaches in South County.

How to apply: email our program director Katie Coughlin at director@gbsa.info - include a resume
